Cave for two

Enjoy an intimate evening with your partner that you will never forget. And to round off a perfect evening, Cave for Two also offers a delectable meal featuring the cuisine of La Gomera.

History of the cave

The story goes that while the crew of a small ship were celebrating in a bar their return from a voyage to London where they successfully delivered a shipment of Canary Islands bananas, the manager of the port mentioned that he knew a place in the south La Gomera where there was a mountain spring. Eager to see such a wonder, they set out in a falúa, a type of sail boat, until they reached the beach of Playa de Santiago.

At the time, the only inhabitant of the place was a woman who lived in a cave in the side of a cliff. She welcomed them very hospitably and killed a chicken in order to prepare a meal for them. The entire group spent the night in the cave, inside a circle of stones with a roof made of palm fronds for protection against the dew, a structure that was very typical at the time for keeping animals.

The story of the cave is still being written today, and a different chapter is written by each of the couples who are privileged to visit it.

Dinner in a cave of legend

An idyllic retreat for an intimate sensory experience. The cave becomes a window on the ocean from which to take in the breathtaking scenery of La Gomera.

Every comfort is provided to make your visit unique. For the complete experience, a private dinner is served consisting of delicacies of La Gomera cuisine.

Choose from the different set menu options and savour the delicious papaya salad with vegan cheese and mango vinaigrette, or tantalise your palate with the pork fillet with Malvasia wine sauce and Canary potatoes with coriander cream, among many other dishes. You can also try the famous quesillo gomero, a caramel pudding served with palm syrup.
